It's a Small World

My mom met Suzanne! She (mom) lives across the street from a house that Suzanne is selling in her career as a real estate agent. How wild is that?

In other news, I start teaching in a little over a week. I'm not ready yet -- more vacation please! Of the variety with lots of fun/funny Mount Holyoke women (and their traveling companions) would be best...

Picnic Wedding

Hi there,
Some people had asked that I post photos of our wedding on August 5th, and we just got some from our friends who attended. The ceremony was at Holiday Hill, a picnic place. You can see a bit of the pool below the balcony. The florist decorated with a garland of laurel and mixed greens. Our friend Mike performed the ceremony, my friend Kristen was best woman, John's cousin David was best man.

John's family: dad Mike, mom Mary, brother Mike, sister-in-law Kerry

My family: dad Lenny, mom Nancy

Mary bought us a chocolate fountain! This and the ice cream truck were a big hit! We also had canoeing, mini-golf, bingo and of course, dancing.

Words of wisdom for those who are getting married: take time to eat! Also, expect the photos to take forever and that it will be very hard to talk to everyone. We had breakfast the next day to talk to our out of town friends! We had a great time though. Then we went to Block Island for a few days of bike riding and beach fun.

CD in the Mail!

Hi all -
Hope you have been having a restful summer - though it sounds like many have been off on further adventures and events - hard to find time to stand still.

I was excited to receive our CD in the mail - fun to hear the differences in performances. Caroline Rose still makes requests to sing to the "women's choir CD" - her requests change with her mood - from Deep River to the counting song to the National Anthem...

My small church choir sent a letter announcing the start of the season in September - will be good to sing again. We will be teaming up with another choir in November for the Faure Requiem - does anyone know it? Was it thrilling/challenging/a nightmare to sing? I have a feeling there will be more car rehearsals in my future...

Thanks again for a most wonderful time together - I hope that our paths cross again soon - if you are in the Twin Cities, please give me a holler...
